Frequently asked questions

No, the goal of this program is to encourage students to attend useful and free workshops provided by Brock to all students all year long.

There is no deadline. You can use your time while studying at Brock to complete the requirements for the certificate. However, the information might be helpful to your studies, so you might want to complete the program sooner than later. Some workshops may have time conflicts with your class schedule but you could take them another term when they fit your timetable.

You will receive a certificate from International Services and an Experience Plus transcript from Career Services, which will indicate the seminars you have attended and the volunteer services and hours you have completed.

No, volunteer hours could be from any volunteer job that you have done on campus, in the city or outside of the region. However, you must provide a written confirmation of your volunteer hours from the service provider.

You need to provide written confirmation from the seminar provider or the volunteer service organizer that you then submit online. The file format could be: .doc, .pdf, .txt, .gif, .jpg, .png. If it’s in an email, you can copy and paste it into a word file and upload that. If you have difficulty obtaining confirmation for your volunteer hours, you can still submit your attendance and we will try to verify with other offices. Please note that you should only submit your attendance in a workshop after you have attended it rather than after you have registered for it.

Yes. After you have completed the Certificate For Success program, you will receive a certificate and an up-to-date Experience Plus transcript. If you do more with Experience Plus later, you can request an updated transcript through Career Services
