International Student Ambassador Award

Interested in becoming an International Student Ambassador? Here’s what you need to know.

International Student Ambassadors enhance the University’s international student community through leadership and engagement. As an ambassador, you will work alongside the staff at Brock International to build an inviting, supportive atmosphere for international students on campus.

Being an ambassador takes commitment and dedication.

Ambassadors play an integral role in making other students feel at home, whether they are international students looking to connect, or domestic students interested in learning about different cultures. To help support this, ambassadors are required to dedicate 80 hours to the role throughout the Fall and Winter Terms.

If you apply and are selected to be an ambassador, you are making a commitment to:

  • Be visible, friendly, and available to chat with other students who have questions or need help.
  • Promote events and initiatives facilitated by Brock International and campus partners.
  • Be a spokesperson and advocate for Brock’s international community.
  • Represent the international student community and Brock International at events.

Benefits of being an
International Student Ambassador

Tuition Savings

In exchange for their hard work and dedication, ambassadors are granted assistance towards the cost of studying in Canada, having their international tuition fees reduced to the domestic student rate.

Networking Opportunities

Participating in Brock International’s many events and promotional campaigns provides ambassadors a multitude of opportunities to meet and engage not only with other students, but also with staff, faculty, and members of community organizations.

Communication & Confidence

Working diligently to make others feel more comfortable at Brock will help you feel more comfortable too! Ambassadors often comment on how their experiences communicating with a diverse range of people helped them to come out of their shell.

Professional Skills

As with any job, we want our ambassadors to feel that they can add new skills to their resume. Being an ambassador can help you to learn and grow so you can take skills like teamwork in a multicultural environment, public speaking, peer mentorship and leadership with you as you move forward in your professional career.
