2023 Gender and Sexual Violence Social Media Coordinator

Our fantastic Peer 2 Peer Support Team (also known as P2P) has so many engaging roles on campus. They staff the HRE GSV Drop-In Centre, located in TH 128A and Online! They are also familiar with resources both on and off campus that pertain to human rights and sexual violence, as well as Brock’s policy on sexual assault and harassment, and can help students looking for supports access those resources.

Our P2P team is also responsible for facilitating many of our HRE GSV workshops and events. This ranges from facilitating our GSV Certificate workshops, to hosting movie nights and fun concerts to engaging in great discussions with students over IG live!

We have many volunteer opportunities for students to get involved with Human Rights and Equity at Brock. For more information please check out our volunteer page. We have volunteer opportunities in general SV, Advocates for Change (Men’s Programming) and the BUSU SV Advisory Committee.

The BUSU/SVSEC advisory is a review group to BUSU and Brock University Administration. The advisory is responsible for providing feedback on current and future SV programming, as well as reviewing and making suggestions surrounding applications for the Women’s Safety Grant.

In the past, we had project based positions for research assistants within Human Rights and Equity. We currently have a research assistant working on accessing Mental and Physical Health Services on Campus: A needs assessment for Sex Workers at Brock University. This project is in conjunction with Niagara YWCA, and Brock Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre.

Stay tuned for updates for potential projects!
