Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge the land on which Brock University was built is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum agreement. Today this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.

BROCK UNIVERSITY’S ABORIGINAL EDUCATION COUNCIL

Welcome Brock University Alumni!

GERVAN FEARON

PRESIDENT AND VICE-CHANCELLOR

At Brock, we are proud to be an institution built on the foundation of community. Our history has seen many highlights and, today, we can celebrate our growth and continued development. Our alumni are a large component of this history, and vital to the development and future of our institution. The passion and pride alumni feel toward their alma mater is evident in the way they speak of their experiences and in their commitment to ensuring a strong future for Brock. Alumni are engaged with students on campus, attend our events, employ our current students and alumni, support us through charitable contributions and ultimately assist us in extending Brock’s reach through personal and professional connections. The Brock University community therefore is very much defined by our alumni and we all benefit from their involvement and commitment to our shared future.

Brock alumni also consistently demonstrate how they contribute to the community around them. Every day, alumni demonstrate what is possible with a Brock degree. We will continue to move Brock forward through innovation, commitment and passion, so that future alumni will continue to receive an outstanding education and make a difference at Brock and in their community. It is noteworthy that our current students are future alumni members – it is a cycle that is very much a part of the university experience. Our alumni are therefore to be thanked for all they do.

We are excited to continue the tradition of recognizing and celebrating the excellence of our alumni and the special milestones that continue to be part of the Brock alumni experience.

TERRY COCKERLINE

Director, Alumni Relations

Brock alumni are special. They genuinely care about the community around them. They work hard in their personal and professional lives and they are generous with their time with our current Brock students. Alumni are extremely important to our institution and they should never underestimate the impact they have on our University and the communities in which they live. They are the heart and soul of Brock, and we are incredibly proud of them. Together we celebrate our alumni, their achievements and their milestones.

One of the areas that we place particular emphasis on is our recognition of excellence program. Through collaboration between the faculties and the alumni association we work to raise Brock’s reputation by highlighting our alumni and the impact they are making in society. Here you will find a few select individuals who are doing extraordinary things with great integrity and character. It is an honour for us to present them to you as our 2020 Recognition of Excellence award recipients.

We are also recognizing alumni celebrating milestone class anniversaries. We sincerely wish the Class of 1995 a happy 25th anniversary, and the Class of 1970 a happy golden anniversary as they celebrate their 50th anniversary this year. These individuals will receive their prestigious cameo pins to commemorate this major milestone with their alma mater. We hope you wear them with pride and share your stories and memories with us, and with each other.
