Venture Development is part of Innovate Niagara’s network of business incubators. Innovate Niagara helps entrepreneurs in high-growth industries to start, grow and succeed. Innovate Niagara is a Regional Innovation Centre (RIC) funded through the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (ONE). Formerly known as nGen – Niagara Interactive Media Generator, Innovate Niagara was renamed in 2013 to reflect their expanded mandate of serving emerging sectors and high-growth industries through business advisory services, tools and resources including a network of business incubators.

The National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) provides advice, connections, and funding to help Canadian small and medium-sized businesses increase their innovation capacity and take ideas to market.. Their goal is to help businesses accelerate their growth through innovation and technology. NRC IRAP helps firms to develop technologies and successfully commercialize them in a global marketplace through advisory services, funding, networking and linkages, and youth employment programs. Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) drives the development of Ontario’s economy by helping create new jobs, products, services, technologies and businesses.

In partnership with industry, OCE co-invests to commercialize innovation originating in the province’s publicly funded colleges, universities and research hospitals. OCE also supports and invests in early-stage projects, where the probability of commercial success and potential total return on innovation are substantial.
