Goodman Group’s Financial Management (for Non-Financial Managers) program is specifically designed to bridge the gap in financial understanding for those who lead without a formal background in finance.

The Financial Management (for Non-Financial Managers)  program will be led by Jingyu (Jennifer) Li – Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs and Professor of Accounting, Goodman School of Business at Brock University. 

Dr. Li began teaching at Goodman School of Business in 2003. She holds a PhD in accounting from Massey University, a MAcc from Missouri State University. She also has her Chartered Professional Accounts (CPA) of Ontario, and teaching certificate from Massey University and Ivey School of Business at Western University.  

At Goodman, Dr. Li is Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs, She is a member of committee which established the MPAC (Master of Professional Accountancy) program, and an instrumental member to apply and receive CPA Ontario accreditation for the MPAC program. She developed the Accounting for Government and Not-for-Profit organizations in 2019, the only accounting for NPOs course in Canada.    

Dr. Li was the Director of Confucius Institute at Brock University (CIBU), an organization dedicated to the appreciation of Chinese culture and supporting the cultural needs of the University and beyond. She was the founding Director of the CPA Ontario Center for Public Policy and Innovation in Accounting, a research center that provide research funding and various professional development and academic exchange activities. The Center successfully hosted symposiums and webinars which have global impact on major issues such as the future of Accounting, business after pandemic and accounting reporting for sustainability.    

Dr. Li is on the editorial board of Journal of Economic Science Research. Periodically, she peer-reviewed for the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA) Annual Conference and the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) Conference.
