  • Facilities Update – Mackenzie Chown – Audible Testing Fire Alarm System – Thursday, September 7

    We wish to advise that NIACON Ltd. and its subcontractors, Weinmann Electric/Chubb Edwards, will carrying out audible testing on the fire alarm system in MacKenzie Chown Complex on Thursday, September 7.  Testing is expected to start at 7:00 a.m.  Barring any unforeseen circumstance all tests will be completed by 8:00 a.m.  The audible test is an integral part of the fire alarm system verification required for the renovation and addition project that is being undertaken in Mackenzie Chown A-Block.

  • Facilities Update – Parking Lot B1 will be closed on Friday, August 11

    We wish to advise that Parking Lot B1 will be closed on Friday, August 11, for pavement marking purposes (i.e., line painting).  The work is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting. Barring any unforeseen circumstance, we expect the work to be completed early Friday afternoon.  In the interim, we ask that you utilize the parking that is available in Lot D (immediately east of Lot B1).

    We apologize for any inconvenience that the pavement marking work may cause.  Please rest assured that every effort will be made to complete the line painting as quickly as possible.

  • Facilities Update – Parking Lot P Closed – Friday, August 4

  • Facilities Update – 573 Glenridge Ave (GLNA) and International Building (GLNB) – Parking Lot Closure, Thursday August 3

    We wish to advise that the parking lot at Glenridge 573A and 573B will be closed on Thursday, August 3 for pavement marking purposes (i.e., line painting).  The work is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., weather permitting.   Barring any unforeseen circumstance, we expect the work to be completed Friday, August 4.  In the interim, we ask that you park in Lot EA (East Academic) – Heritage Plaza.

    We apologize for any inconvenience that the pavement marking work may cause.  Please rest assured that every effort will be made to complete the line painting as quickly as possible.

  • Facilities Update – Maintenance, South Side of Cairns Complex – August 2-5

    Please be advised that on Wednesday August 2 to Friday August 4, there will be maintenance performed on the exterior shade screening on the south side of the Cairns Complex. For this work to happen parts of the sidewalk on the south side of Cairns will have construction equipment working its way down the sidewalk through the expected duration of the work. The affected area below and around the construction equipment will be taped off. There will be times when access to the main exterior south entrance of Cairns Complex, as well as the exterior entrances of McMaster, and Biolinc will be temporarily closed due to the work proceeding as they move west to east down the shade screen. Alternate routes will always be available during these times of the exterior entrances being closed.

  • Facilities Update – Thistle Fire Alarm Verification – Wednesday, August 2

    Please be advised that on Wednesday, August 2 at 6:00 a.m., Great Lakes Fire along with Webley Construction will be verifying the fire alarm devices in TH131. The alarm will ring throughout the complex for approximately 15 minutes from 6:00 a.m. to 6:15 a.m.

    We understand that your operations may be affected by construction work. We want to assure you that we are taking all necessary measures to minimize the disruptions, noise, and inconvenience to our neighboring offices and workspaces, including scheduling this disruption before normal working hours.

  • Facilities Update – Lot 1 (Zone1) Kiosk Construction Commencing July 17 to end of August

    Please be advised that construction work is expected to commence on the Lot 1 (Zone 1) kiosk on Monday, July 17 to approximately the end of August. With this, please use the Flora Egerter Way Entrance and Glenridge Entrance to access Lot 1 (Zone 1). Directional signage will be posted.

  • Facilities Update – Testing Elevator Fire Detection Systems – July 19 & 20

    Pleased that the week of July 19 and 20 Contractors will be testing the elevator fire detection system throughout all of the main campus, east campus and satellite sites.  Elevators will be offline one at a time for a short duration as the team works through the testing.  Notice of the short intermittent closures will be posted at the elevator as well.
