  • Facilities Update – MCA Power Shutdown and Network Connectivity Loss – Monday, March 20

    We wish to advise that NIACON and its subcontractor, Weinmann Electric, plan to temporarily shutdown power on Monday, March 20, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.  The shutdown is an integral part of the renovation/addition project that is underway on Level 200 in MC A-Block.  Please note that the brief shutdown could result in a loss of network connective.  In this regard, we ask that you power down your computer(s) before leaving today.

    We apologize for any inconvenience that the shutdown may cause.  Please rest assured that every effort will be made to restore power as quickly as possible.

  • Facilities Update – Mackenzie Chown A Block and Goodman School of Business – After Hours Work Schedule

    We wish to advise that NIACON and its subcontractor, CLC, will be working after hours this coming week.  The planned hours of work are as follows:

    February 14, 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (noisy activity 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.)

    February 15, 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (noisy activity 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.)

    February 16, 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (noisy activity 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.)

    We apologize for any inconvenience the after-hours work may cause and assure you that every effort will be made to expedite the work and minimize the noise.

  • Facilities Update – BRIC – Renovation to Accessible Washroom

    Please be advised that starting on February 2 the Accessible Washroom at the BRIC will be undergoing a renovation. It is anticipated that the washroom will be unavailable for approximately three weeks, as all the fixtures are being removed and replaced.

    Occasional noise, dust and odours are to be expected during this time.

  • Facilities Update – Phase 2 MCA Renovation – Level 200 – Commencing January 23

    We wish to advise that NIACON Ltd. of Niagara Falls will be starting Phase 2 of the renovation to Mackenzie Chown A Block – Level 200 on Monday, January 23. The work has been scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily and will be continuous to completion, which is expected to be mid-August of this year. Please note that from time to time the work will generate some noise. Every effort will be made to minimize the noise as much as possible.

    In addition, access to the courtyard north of the Goodman School of Business will be restricted to accommodate a construction laydown area and separate contractor ingress/egress to and from the work site.

  • Facilities Update – Mackenzie Chown C Block 200 Level – Construction Noise/Dust Commencing January 16

    Please be advised that as part of a laboratory upgrade in C Block 200 Level, there will be ongoing construction noise and dust for work starting Monday, January 16 for approximately 16 weeks.

  • UPDATE – Mackenzie Chown Complex – Painting of doors due to changing of door handles

    We wish to advise that our Brock University Locksmiths will be periodically changing out the knob handles for lever handles on all door in Mackenzie Chown Complex. Please note that we are not changing the cylinders and that the original key will still work. The painter will be following behind the locksmith to paint doors that need to be patched and where the escutcheon plates do not line up with the previous ones.

    There will be some disruption at each door for a couple of hours to complete this work.
