Every year, Brock University’s Facilities Management Electrical Services and Information Technology Services conduct full-scale maintenance on their respective infrastructure. Although this occurs annually, the campus is broken up into three groups. You can see the buildings that comprise each group and their future full-scale maintenance dates on the attached file.
The buildings known as Group C have their annual maintenance scheduled for Friday, May 9th, 2025. During this time, the buildings will be CLOSED and there will be no access from 6:00 pm on Friday May 9th to 10:00 am on Saturday May 10th.
Group C Buildings undergoing annual maintenance in May 2025 are:
- Roy & Louis Family Heath and Bioscience and Research Complex
- Welch Hall
- Scotia Bank Hall
- South Block
- Walker Complex
- Lowenberger Residence
- Village Residence
- Kenmore Centre
- Harrison Hall
- Theal House
- D Lot Parking Kiosk
- Rosiland Blauer Daycare
- Mackenzie Chown A Block

The University’s East and Satellite Campuses will have normal power and will be operational as per their usual schedules.
For emergency-only access to any of these affected areas, please contact Campus Security at x 3200 to make arrangements. All doors will be locked and swipe card access will be unavailable during these times.
In order to prepare for the power shutdown, networks will be powered down at 6:00 pm, on Friday May 9th. As a result, network access (which includes both wired and wireless connectivity) will NOT be available in the impacted buildings until shortly after the power is restored on Saturday May 10th.
Students, Faculty and Staff with spaces in the buildings listed above are reminded to do the following prior to leaving for the weekend on Friday, May 9th:
- Make prior arrangements to ensure that computers, printers, and sensitive equipment, etc, are power off
- Clean out fridges and remove anything that is at risk of spoilage
In the unlikely event that power cannot be restored to the areas mentioned above by 10:00 am on Saturday, information will be posted on the Brock homepage (under “News”). Every effort will be made to communicate this information by 7:00 am.
