We are currently recruiting parent-teen pairs to participate in one of our ongoing studies! Teens must be between 12 and 18 years of age to be eligible. All participants must be Ontario residents and have their own email address and smartphone. Participation involves two phases, repeated 3 times over the course of a year:
- Comprehensive Survey
- Parents and teens each fill out a 45-60 minute survey that includes questions about personality, perfectionism, social connection, social comparison and well-being
- Each participant will receive a 20 dollar Amazon gift card (CAD)
- These surveys can be completed on any device
- Daily Surveys
- Parents and teens each complete a series of daily surveys for a period of one week
- Participants will have the opportunity to complete two short surveys per day about their mood, well-being, and social comparisons
- Midday survey: less than 5 minutes
- Evening survey: 5-10 minutes
- Each participant will have the opportunity to earn up to a 30 dollar Amazon gift card (CAD) for the week-long period
- Each midday survey complete earns 1 dollar
- Each evening survey complete earns 2 dollars
- Daily bonus of 1 dollar for every day both the midday and evening survey are completed
- Overall completion bonus of 2 dollars if all surveys are completed
- Daily surveys must be completed on a smartphone device through ExperienceSampler, an app that we developed ourselves and will help you get set up
Participants will have the opportunity to participate in both phases at three separate times: baseline, 6-month follow-up, and 12-month follow-up. This gives each participant the opportunity to earn up to 150 dollars in Amazon gift cards across the course of the study!
