Day 2 – Hockey Day in Vancouver

The Hockey game is not until 4:00 PM and the time is now 9:00 AM.  Our couple is fanatical about the game of golf, and they figure they have enough time before the game to take in a round.  Vancouver is, after all, one of the only locations in Canada to play golf all year round.

While eating their complementary continental breakfast they learn that The University Golf Club has the following rates:

Kenji and Yumi both play a round of golf.  A round of golf costs $65 per person, two sleeves of golf balls cost $22.50, and club rentals cost $20 per person.  Our travelers must also pay 14.5% tax on top of every charge.

Aside from the above mentioned golf costs, Kenji and Yumi also pay $28 for cab fare to and from the golf course, and $15 each for lunch.  These charges include tax, but not tip.  Remember that Kenji and Yumi always give an extra 15% tip for service.  Remember to keep a running total of their costs.

The time is now 3:00 PM and our travelers are jumping with anticipation.  Not only did they both just shoot the best round of golf of their lives, but also it is only 1 hour to face off.  Their hotel is only 1.5 km to GM place, so they decide to save money and enjoy a leisurely walk.  Go Canada Go!
