Prince George has the newest free-standing university in Canada
- the University of Northern British Columbia - which opened in
September 1994. The Multiplex Centre at the Exhibition Park allows
for high quality sports and entertainment to now make Prince George
a destination stop. The city pulp mills offer tours, and the demonstration
forests provide a hands-on understanding of the enormous forest
industry in the area. Where are we? Prince George is located 780 kilometers (496 miles) north of Vancouver on Highway 97.
