Our goal at the Canadian Wine Library is to demonstrate the potential and the pleasures of cellaring VQA Canadian wines. Being from a cool climate, many of our wines improve with age. We believe this message is not as clear to many consumers as we’d like. One of our aims is to correct this lack of awareness. In many retrospective tastings dating back to the early 1990s, selected Ontario wines have shown remarkable complexities in terms of new aromas, intriguing flavors and enviable textures. We know that most consumers drink our wines too young and miss out on these pleasures.
Who can request these wines?
Tasting Groups, Tasting Conferences, Media, and Researchers will start by submitting an online application to taste wines from the CWL. Once approved the wines are released to the applicant. Results from the tasting are confidentially sent back to the participating winery(s). In the case for researchers, they will submit results of their research back to the CWL for dissemination back to participating winery(s).
