Associate Professor, Psychology
Dr. Evans obtained her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of Toronto and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Gould School of Law, University of Southern California. She is currently an Associate Professor of Psychology at Brock University where she studies how to obtain the most honest and accurate reports from children. Her program of research examines methods for promoting honesty with children between 3 to 16 years of age. Additionally, she examines how question format can influence the accuracy of children’s reports of experienced events. Dr. Evans has completed a 14-week in-person training course on the Ten-Step Interview Protocol and has conducted forensic interviews with child witnesses for Edelman Children’s Court. Dr. Evans has provided collaborative training sessions on how to interview child witnesses to police, social workers, and lawyers in both Canada and the U.S.
