Hiring and training early talent can be expensive and time-consuming for employers. Talent Bridge connects employers to recent graduates that have industry-specific training and applicable licensing. Talent Bridge will help your company build a future workforce with the brightest talent.
As part of a 2-year pilot program, Brock University’s Co-op, Career and Experiential Education unit is partnering with the insurance industry to provide an intensive, pre-employment training program for those interested in pursuing careers in insurance but lack industry experience, training and the required credentials to gain employment. Talent Bridge addresses the needs of recent graduates while supporting industry with skilled talent for their current and future business needs.
We are actively seeking partnerships with insurance companies and brokerages for the January 2022 cohort.
Through discussions with key insurance industry partners, we have identified a continuous need for qualified candidates who possess post-secondary level competencies of problem solving, critical thinking and creativity in addition to industry-specific credentials and professional training.
As an industry-focused and led program, Talent Bridge aims to prepare emerging professionals to enter a stable and rewarding profession within the insurance industry, respond to the current needs within the Niagara Region and GTHA, and limit the risks and added recruitment and training costs to you by providing them with a qualified, licensed talent pool.
Interested participants complete an application process to ensure they are well-suited for a career within the insurance industry. Approved participants are then provided with up to 12 weeks
of industry-specific skills and career development training, networking opportunities and a comprehensive Level 1 licensing preparation course facilitated by a leader in insurance industry professional development and education. Candidates complete the program with either their Level-1 RIBO or OTL license and curriculum is developed and delivered jointly by Brock University’s talent development team and insurance industry partners.
Partners get to know participants throughout the program via networking and workshop facilitation.
Talent Bridge concludes with a formal (and exclusive) recruitment process with our industry partners.
Once hired, and upon successful completion of the industry partner’s probationary period, the Talent Bridge graduate (i.e. new employee) receives reimbursement from their employer for a portion of program enrollment fee, limiting the partner’s recruitment and financial risk.
