The entire Co-op journey brings the concept of Career Development theory to life by training you on skill translation and articulation, exploring career possibilities, discovering your interests, gaining new skills and building upon existing competencies, all while establishing industry contacts in the world of work. Your Co-op journey will also enrich your studies through the application of concepts and skills learned in class during your work terms while developing long-term workplace efficacy.  This will increase your marketability and provide you with a competitive advantage to launch your career upon graduation.

Overview

In the ecosystem of Co-operative Education, students as learners are expected to attain career training and work experience that will help them meet their skill development goals. Employer partners are expected to provide quality paid work experience to help co-op students meet their goals. In return, employer partners will benefit from the skills and knowledge students bring to the workplace.

The institution is here to guide and coach students’ skill development through academic training and career programming, facilitate the recruitment process, support both students and employers involved in the co-operative education experience, and ensure the quality of the overall co-op experience meets all stakeholders involved in the co-op ecosystem.

Direct Entry at the time of applying to Brock University.

Our Co-op Programs are direct entry – you are admitted directly to the Co-op stream of your degree program; application after year one is not required.  You will know when you are admitted to Brock that you are accepted into Co-op.

NOTE: Limited space may be available for high-performing students to apply after their 1st year.
