From military officer to feminist academic and fiction author to creative writing facilitator, Nancy Taber\u2019s journey has been anything but linear.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The Professor of Educational Studies and former Sea King helicopter air navigator combines these various \u2014 and sometimes contradictory \u2014 roles in her current scholarly, creative and community work.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In an upcoming Women in Leadership session, Taber will discuss her experiences serving in the military, becoming a feminist academic, authoring her first novel, mentoring writers and serving as co-director of the Transforming Military Cultures network.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cFeminist and creative theories, pedagogies and practices were key to transformative change in my life,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Taber\u2019s presentation, \u201cLearning about women\u2019s leadership through fiction-based research, expressive writing workshops, and (critiquing) military service,\u201d takes place Thursday, March 27, from noon to 1 p.m. on Microsoft Teams.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Details on this and\u202fother\u202fupcoming Women in Leadership sessions, including dates, descriptions and login information are available on\u202fthe WIL website<\/a>.
