He also published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ottawacitizen.com\/entertainment\/Layton+should+never+shave\/4705582\/story.html\">&#8220;Layton should never shave it off&#8221;<\/a> in the <em>Ottawa Citizen<\/em> on May 1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Garth Stevenson<\/strong>, professor of Political Science, was quoted in the article &#8220;Truancy fines for MPs gain support,&#8221; which appeared in the <em>London Free Press<\/em>, <em>Kingston Whig-Standard<\/em> and <em>Niagara Falls Review<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Terry Wade<\/strong>, associate professor of Community Health Sciences, was in the article <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stcatharinesstandard.ca\/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3093455\">&#8220;Games with a purpose&#8221;<\/a> in the <em>St. Catharines Standard<\/em> on April 25.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Debbie Slade<\/strong>, director of the Centre for the Arts, was quoted in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stcatharinesstandard.ca\/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3094139\">&#8220;Arts centre group learning from other cities&#8217; venues,&#8221;<\/a> published in the <em>St. Catharines Standard<\/em> on April 25.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Siegel<\/strong>, Political Science professor, was quoted in the article <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niagarafallsreview.ca\/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3094000\">&#8220;Is Layton Mania for real?&#8221;<\/a> in the <em>Niagara Falls Review<\/em> on April 25. He discussed the apparent surge in popularity for NDP leader Jack Layton. The article was reprinted in the <em>Welland Tribune<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charles Burton<\/strong>, associate professor of Political Science, was interviewed for <em>OMNI TV Alberta Mandarin News<\/em>&#8216;s report on the election of Lobsang Sangay as Prime Minister of the Tibetan Government in Exile. It was broadcast on April 29 and can be viewed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.omniab.ca\/news\/?language=1 \" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> or heard <a href=\"http:\/\/spartan.ac.brocku.ca\/~cburton\/OMNIAB29APR11.wma\">here<\/a> (Windows Media file). Burton was also interviewed by Radio France International Chinese service about the impact of the Canadian election on Canada&#8217;s China policy. The article is about Tax Free Savings Accounts, which were introduced in 2009.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Livianna Tossutti<\/strong>, associate professor of Political Science, was quoted in the article <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stcatharinesstandard.ca\/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3106959\">&#8220;Election aftermath: Excitement was high, voter turnout not so much&#8221;<\/a> in the <em>St. Catharines Standard<\/em> on May 3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul Hamilton<\/strong>, associate professor of Political Science, was quoted in the article <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wellandtribune.ca\/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3104946\">&#8220;Niagara Islamic leader hopes cloud has lifted&#8221;<\/a> in the <em>St. Catharines Standard<\/em> and the <em>Welland Tribune<\/em>. In the article, he comments about the death of Osama bin Laden.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charles Conteh<\/strong>, assistant professor of Political Science, was quoted in <a href=\"http:\/\/gazettebw.com\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=9487:lea-workshops-identify-smme-constraints-in-bots&amp;catid=13:business&amp;Itemid=2\">&#8220;LEA workshops identify SMME constraints in Bots&#8221;<\/a> in the <em>Botswana Gazette<\/em> on May 4.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kate Bezanson<\/strong>, associate professor of Sociology, wrote <a href=\"http:\/\/rabble.ca\/news\/2011\/05\/fear-politics-and-conservative-majority\">&#8220;Fear, politics and a Conservative majority,&#8221;<\/a> which was published on rabble.ca on May 4.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Siegel<\/strong>, in his capacity as director of the Niagara Community Observatory, was quoted in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niagarathisweek.com\/opinion\/editorial\/article\/1003409--social-media-changes-the-game\">&#8220;Social media changes the game&#8221;<\/a> in <em>Niagara This Week<\/em>, as was research assistant Doug Hagar. The observatory released a policy brief about the use of social media in elections.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul Dunn<\/strong>, associate professor in the Faculty of Business, was quoted in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stcatharinesstandard.ca\/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3112876\">&#8220;Glass ceiling of business slowly being broken by women&#8221;<\/a> in the <em>St. Catharines Standard<\/em> on May 6. Dunn recently published an article in the <em>Journal of Management and Governance<\/em> about women on male-dominated boards and corporations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Greg Finn<\/strong>, Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President Academic, published the article <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stcatharinesstandard.ca\/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3118676\">&#8220;When Confucius meets Brock&#8221;<\/a> in the <em>St. Catharines Standard<\/em> on May 11. The article is about the new Confucius Institute at Brock.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pete Somerwil<\/strong>, Brock&#8217;s rowing coach, was recognized on <em>CNN<\/em> for his peach upside down cake on May 12. The article is at <a href=\"http:\/\/eatocracy.cnn.com\/2011\/05\/12\/fare-play-peach-upside-down-cake\/\">&#8220;Fare play: peach upside down cake&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>St. Catharines Standard<\/em> and <em>Welland Tribune<\/em> ran the article <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wellandtribune.ca\/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3125740&amp;\">&#8220;Confucius Institute celebrates opening at Brock&#8221;<\/a> about the official opening of the Confucius Institute.
