From interactive cooking classes to cultural crafts and games, International Education Week (IEW)<\/a> events at Brock highlighted the power of global learning and the importance of understanding different perspectives.<\/p>\n

Held from Monday, Nov. 18 to Friday, Nov. 22, the weeklong celebration created opportunities for students, faculty and staff to learn, connect and appreciate diverse cultures.<\/p>\n

The week kicked off with a bustling Study Abroad Fair on Monday, Nov. 18, which featured opportunities for students to explore international learning experiences, and the launch of Brock University\u2019s International Strategic Plan<\/a> on Tuesday, Nov. 19, which underscored Brock\u2019s commitment to global engagement.<\/p>\n

Throughout the week, members of the Brock community explored international cuisines at the Food First Community Cook Along on Nov. 18 and the popular Brock University Students\u2019 Union (BUSU) Night Market on Wednesday, Nov. 20. A series of engaging interactive events led by Brock\u2019s International Student Ambassadors also offered opportunities for attendees to enjoy snacks, crafts, games, cultural storytelling and human rights trivia.<\/p>\n

A highlight of the week was the Human Library on Thursday, Nov. 21, which allowed participants to travel the world through personal storytelling and one-on-one cultural conversations, all without leaving the room. More than 35 attendees were able to connect with students, faculty and staff representing 20 countries. Provost and Vice-President, Academic Arja Vainio-Mattila proudly represented her Finnish heritage, contributing to the rich tapestry of shared experiences.<\/p>\n

\u201cIEW gives us the chance to truly connect as a global community,\u201d said Director of Brock International Christina Bosilo. \u201cIn addition to launching the International Strategic Plan this week, there were many dynamic events that showcased the value of embracing diverse perspectives and fostering meaningful connections.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t
