The Brock community mourns the loss of administrative assistant Jennifer Ritchie (BA \u201900) in the Department of Nursing.<\/p>\n
She passed away on Sunday, Oct. 20, surrounded by loved ones.<\/p>\n
Ritchie was a graduate of Brock\u2019s Sociology program and a long-standing member of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF), having joined in 2010. She was also the proud mother of two boys. Her elder son, Wyatt, is a Sport Management student at Brock.<\/p>\n
In 2018, Ritchie shared her story with the Brock community<\/a> to encourage participation in the Rankin Family Cancer Run to raise funds for local organizations supporting cancer patients and survivors.<\/p>\n Chair and Associate Professor of Nursing Karyn Taplay says Ritchie will be deeply missed.<\/p>\n \u201cJen was an integral part of the Nursing Department and it was an honour to work with her,\u201d says Taplay. \u201cJen was a proud momma, a loving wife and a wonderful colleague and friend who will be remembered for the lives she touched along with the positive impact she had on hundreds of Nursing students.\u201d<\/p>\n Friends and colleagues are invited to visitations that will take place at the George Darte Funeral Home in St. Catharines on Friday, Nov. 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A celebration of life will follow on Saturday, Nov. 2 at noon in person and via livestream.
