The Centre for Pedagogical Innovation (CPI) has launched a new initiative to increase accessibility awareness through teaching and research at Brock.<\/p>\n

The Faculty Fellows in Accessibility<\/a> program will support the development of accessible pedagogical practice as well as scholarship of teaching and learning research around accessibility at Brock University.<\/p>\n

Faculty members, librarians and sessional or part-time instructors are invited to apply to the program, with one fellow to be selected from each of Brock\u2019s six teaching Faculties each year.<\/p>\n

The Accessibility Fellows will promote awareness of proposed Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act post-secondary education standard recommendations that impact accessible instruction, technology and training at Ontario colleges and universities.<\/p>\n

Participants will also engage in meaningful scholarship of teaching and learning that highlights collective interdisciplinary possibilities for accessibility and inclusion at Brock, building a foundation for future accessible pedagogy mentorship opportunities within the faculty community.<\/p>\n

“The Faculty Fellows in Accessibility initiative provides a community space for faculty to reflect, research and connect with peers in other disciplines about accessible teaching and learning practices. It supports innovative thinking on accessible pedagogy, highlighting Brock’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion in the Academic plan,\u201d says Senior Educational Developer, Accessibility and Inclusion Ann Gagn\u00e9, who will facilitate the program.<\/p>\n
