{"id":96782,"date":"2024-10-24T10:15:40","date_gmt":"2024-10-24T14:15:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=96782"},"modified":"2024-10-24T16:48:41","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T20:48:41","slug":"presenters-sought-for-continuing-education-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2024\/10\/presenters-sought-for-continuing-education-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Presenters sought for continuing education conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Educators, professionals and experts from across Canada and beyond will gather at Brock next spring for the 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/cauce-aepuc.ca\/conference\/index.php#Theme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canadian Association of University Continuing Education (CAUCE) conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by Brock University Professional and Continuing Studies (Brock PCS) in partnership with Brock Conference Services, the event will offer professional development and networking opportunities for university continuing education (CE) staff and instructors. The conference takes place from Wednesday, May 28 to Friday, May 30.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no better place than Brock University to connect with colleagues, share knowledge and demonstrate that \u2018Knowledge Knows No Boundaries,\u2019 our theme for this conference,\u201d said Brock President and Vice-Chancellor Lesley Rigg. \u201cContinuing Education providers have a critical role of empowering and fostering lifelong learning for all, illustrating the pursuit of knowledge is not confined by age, profession or background.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Attendees will collaborate and explore how their continuing education initiatives help enhance individuals skills, promote career advancement and contribute to the broader goal of continuing education by breaking down geographical and institutional barriers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are very excited to come to Brock in the beautiful Niagara region for this year&#8217;s conference,\u201d says Coral Sawchyn, Manager, CAUCE Secretariat. \u201cThe combination of stunning surroundings and a vibrant community makes it the perfect place to bring together innovators and leaders. We&#8217;re excited not only for the groundbreaking ideas that will emerge but also to experience all that Niagara has to offer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The conference will feature two keynotes and a variety of sessions, discussions and panels covering new digital learning tools, inclusive teaching methods and ways to keep learners engaged.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to host the CAUCE conference here at Brock University,\u201d said Nathan Cheney, Director of Professional and Continuing Studies, who is leading conference planning for Brock PCS. \u201cWe want to welcome our colleagues from across the country to campus and create a space where people can share new ideas and innovations for improving lifelong learning and professional education.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Those interested in presenting at the conference can <a href=\"https:\/\/cauce-aepuc.ca\/conference\/opportunities\/call-for-presentations.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">submit a proposal<\/a> until Monday, Dec. 2. Conference streams include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Measuring impact and success: Telling the CE story<\/li>\n<li>Community impact: How CE supports local communities<\/li>\n<li>Improving access to education: Services, programs and partnerships<\/li>\n<li>The future of work: How CE helps learners prepare for employment outcomes and success<\/li>\n<li>Breaking down barriers: Institutionally and internationally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cCAUCE 2025 at Brock University in the beautiful Niagara region is set to be an unforgettable experience.\u201d says Jennie Atkins, Executive Director, University of Windsor Continuing Education and President of the 2024-25 CAUCE Executive Committee. \u201cWe are confident that this conference will exceed all expectations, offering valuable insights and opportunities for growth with an emphasis on lifelong learning being accessible to everyone.
