{"id":96763,"date":"2024-10-24T11:20:35","date_gmt":"2024-10-24T15:20:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=96763"},"modified":"2024-11-29T16:32:49","modified_gmt":"2024-11-29T21:32:49","slug":"student-business-tote-ally-captivates-campus-store-shoppers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2024\/10\/student-business-tote-ally-captivates-campus-store-shoppers\/","title":{"rendered":"Student business tote-ally captivates Campus Store shoppers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Third-year Psychology student Divit Payeng is bringing his business to life on campus thanks to a partnership between the Brock LINC and the Campus Store.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2023, the <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/linc\/contest-to-showcase-your-product-in-the-campus-store\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brock LINC x Campus Store Contest<\/a> is open to all Brock students with a retail-based product and gives the winning student entrepreneur an opportunity to display and sell their products in the Campus Store.<\/p>\n<p>As this year\u2019s winner, Payeng will be able to sell his unique canvas tote bags in the Campus Store until April.<\/p>\n<p>Payeng co-founded his business, The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/the_tote_store_\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tote Store<\/a>, in India two years ago with his partner, Mishita Rungta, developing hand-embroidered tote bags that are functional pieces of art. Each bag has its own personalized touch, with designs including a wide range of flowers, plants and insects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMishita and I both have a shared love for creativity. We knew that we wanted to offer something handmade and meaningful, so tote bags were perfect,\u201d said Payeng.<\/p>\n<p>Payeng has already had to restock the inventory in the Campus Store several times since his bags were first placed on shelves in September, highlighting their positive reception.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never imagined that something that we worked on would get this platform,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Students love how customizable and unique the bags are.
