The Building Better Research (BBR) series returns this fall with a range of online workshops for Brock researchers.<\/p>\n

Offered through a partnership between the Brock University Library and the Office of Research Services, the professional development series was designed to provide faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students and staff with practical tools and information covering every stage of the research process, from idea generation to knowledge dissemination.<\/p>\n

\u201cOftentimes people imagine book stacks or study space when they envision the library, but we also have people with specialized expertise in research methodologies, tools and communications,\u201d says Denise Smith, the Brock Library\u2019s Head of Research Lifecycle. \u201cWe hope researchers will leverage the library and ORS expertise as they engage in the research process.\u201d<\/p>\n

This fall\u2019s workshops explore topics related to open access publishing, evidence synthesis research methodologies, using social media platforms, and research-related software and tool subscriptions and memberships available at Brock.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy offering workshops on topics like open access publishing and evidence synthesis, we\u2019re not only responding to the community\u2019s interests but also fostering a research culture that is both innovative and inclusive,\u201d says Research Impact Manager Jayne Morrish.<\/p>\n

The open access publishing workshop takes place during International Open Access Week<\/a>, helping to promote open scholarship and build community in the research sector, says Smith.<\/p>\n
