A group of students and staff recently gathered to cook and share a meal at the pilot Food First Community Cook Along event.<\/p>\n
Organized by the Food First working group, the event took place on Wednesday, Oct. 2 and saw participants spend the evening discussing healthy recipes and ways to make the most of their grocery budgets while also cooking a vegetarian chili and lentil loaf. After sharing the meal together, students were also able to take home extra portions to stock their fridges and freezers.<\/p>\n
The next Food First Community Cook Along will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, during Brock’s International Education Week,<\/a> in the staff lounge on the second floor of the International Centre. Tickets for the event are $5 and students will need to register in advance to attend.
