Brock\u2019s Anti-Racism Committee (ARC) is welcoming the University community to learn more about anti-racism initiatives taking place across campus.<\/p>\n
The event<\/a> will take place on Thursday, Oct. 3 from noon to 2 p.m. in Room 214\/215 of the Rankin Family Pavilion. Lunch will be provided and catered by Niagara-based business Ritchie\u2019s Jamaican\u00a0Dishes.<\/p>\n Operating within the President\u2019s Advisory Committee on Human Rights, Equity and Decolonization (PACHRED)<\/a>, ARC\u2019s anti-racism work at the University and throughout the broader Niagara region will be highlighted at the event.<\/p>\n The lunch-and-learn session will also include discussion about how the Brock community can support the advancement of human rights, equity and inclusion across campus.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is critical that university communities continually strive to show leadership in promoting greater equity and fostering a culture of working and learning that is safe, welcoming and inclusive,\u201d said Richard Ndayizigamiye, Lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures. \u201cWe look forward to seeing the Brock community come together in support of ARC\u2019s efforts to advance Brock\u2019s strategic objectives to promote inclusivity, accessibility, reconciliation and decolonization and to reinforce the dignity and self-determination of everyone on campus.\u201d<\/p>\n ARC co-chairs Ndayizigamiye; Marla Terreberry-Portfilio, Associate Director, International Services; and Syna Thakur, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Research Advisor will be joined at the event by Shaka Licorish, Anti-Racism Advisor and liaison with the Human Rights and Equity Office. Bradley Clarke, Associate Vice-President, Students, will also provide welcoming remarks on the evolution of Brock\u2019s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.<\/p>\n The event is open to everyone in the Brock community, but space is limited.
