Whether students were new to university life or taking the next steps in their academic careers, they were greeted with excitement during Brock’s Welcome Week.<\/p>\n

The New Student Welcome and Academic Orientation (NSWAO) as well as the Graduate Orientation were held on Tuesday, Sept. 3.<\/p>\n

The NSWAO, with its opening ceremony in Ian Beddis Gymnasium, saw more than 2,000 incoming students given insight into the university experience by Brock President and Vice-Chancellor Lesley Rigg, Associate Vice-President, Students Brad Clarke and Brock University Students’ Union President Anusha Pahuja, among others.<\/p>\n

Students then attended their Faculty Academic Orientation sessions, where they learned about academic supports and resources available to help them succeed.<\/p>\n

In Sean O\u2019Sullivan Theatre, the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs (FGSPA) welcomed more than 225 new graduate students with remarks from Suzanne Curtin, Vice-Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs, and Arja Vainio-Mattila, Provost and Vice-President, Academic. Attendees also heard from the Graduate Students\u2019 Association, FGSPA staff and a dynamic student panel.<\/p>\n

Brock’s newest grad students then headed to Market Hall for a lunch and service fair, where they explored a range of on-campus resources tailored to support their graduate journey. Graduate students can find more information on Brock services and resources on the FGPSA website<\/a>.<\/p>\n
