Nicole Nolan has been appointed Brock\u2019s next University Librarian.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nolan, who has served as Interim University Librarian since May 1, 2023, is an experienced leader with a deep background in academic librarianship.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She brings an extensive portfolio of experience to the role, having held leadership roles in academic libraries at both Brock and Western. Notable accomplishments include spearheading significant projects such as the implementation of new digital platforms and services, enhancing user access and engagement, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and strategic innovation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Under Nolan\u2019s leadership, Brock Library has seen advancements in technological transformation, operational management and strategic planning, and she has been instrumental in promoting Open Educational Resources initiatives, improving the affordability of learning materials for students, and leading library operations with a clear focus on transparent communication and fair decision-making processes.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to operational excellence, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect within the library and the wider university community. Her efforts in championing Indigenization, equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility and anti-racism initiatives have been significant, contributing to a welcoming and safe environment for all members of the university community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
