{"id":90998,"date":"2024-02-16T11:36:33","date_gmt":"2024-02-16T16:36:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=90998"},"modified":"2024-02-16T16:01:50","modified_gmt":"2024-02-16T21:01:50","slug":"public-health-student-takes-home-brocks-got-talent-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2024\/02\/public-health-student-takes-home-brocks-got-talent-win\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Health student takes home Brock&#8217;s Got Talent win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s no doubt about it, Olajumoke (Ola) Shobowale&#8217;s got talent.<\/p>\n<p>The third-year Public Health student took home first place in the 2024 Brock\u2019s Got Talent competition, hosted by the Brock University Students&#8217; Union.<\/p>\n<p>Shobowale participated in the competition\u2019s finale on Thursday, Feb. 8 in front of a panel of judges, including Canada\u2019s Got Talent finalist Maeve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParticipating in Brock\u2019s Got Talent wasn\u2019t merely about performing; it was an opportunity for me to express my passion and forge connections with others in an enjoyable manner,\u201d said Shobowale. \u201cIt provided an avenue to break away from the monotony of daily life and spread happiness. I&#8217;d eagerly embrace the experience again, drawn by the profound sense of satisfaction it provided.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shobowale will go on to represent Brock University in the Ontario\u2019s Got Talent finals at Conestoga College on Friday, March 8, where she will compete against winners from seven other Ontario post-secondary institutions for the title and $900 worth of prizes.
