Brock students were celebrated for their work on Black History Month\/African Heritage Month programming and for their entrepreneurial spirit when the University welcomed the Honourable Jill Dunlop, Minister of Colleges and Universities, and the Honourable Nina Tangri, Associate Minister of Small Business, to campus on Thursday, Feb. 1.<\/p>\n
Dunlop, alongside Parliamentary Assistant Natalie Pierre and Member of Provincial Parliament for Niagara West Sam Oosterhoff, met with students and staff in the Black Student Success Centre (BSSC) to learn about the services and resources it provides to Brock students as well as the programming organized in honour of Black History Month\/African Heritage Month.<\/p>\n
The month-long celebration<\/a> kicked off with an event in Rankin Family Pavilion<\/a> where Dunlop and Oosterhoff shared remarks on behalf of the Government of Ontario.<\/p>\n In the afternoon, Tangri toured the Brock Library Makerspace and the Brock LINC to learn about resources available to support students and community members through their innovation journeys. Tangri met with several student entrepreneurs who shared their diverse experiences and how they were using Brock LINC to launch their businesses.<\/p>\n\n\t
