{"id":90405,"date":"2024-01-23T14:43:38","date_gmt":"2024-01-23T19:43:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=90405"},"modified":"2024-01-23T20:16:49","modified_gmt":"2024-01-24T01:16:49","slug":"nomination-deadline-nearing-for-alumni-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2024\/01\/nomination-deadline-nearing-for-alumni-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Nomination deadline nearing for alumni awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the Brock community are encouraged to nominate Brock graduates for distinguished honours before the Wednesday, Jan. 31 deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Eleven alumni are annually presented with awards from the Brock University Alumni Association in collaboration with the University that recognize and celebrate their personal, professional or community-based accomplishments while also promoting the excellence of the University and its graduates.<\/p>\n<p>Nominations are open for the following awards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Distinguished Alumni Award:<\/strong>\u00a0Honours a Brock University graduate who has earned prominence for their exceptional professional achievements and\/or service to society.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Distinguished Faculty Graduate Awards:<\/strong>\u00a0Honours one graduate from each Faculty who has earned prominence for their exceptional professional achievements and\/or service to society.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Outstanding Young Alumni Award:<\/strong>\u00a0Recognizes a Brock University graduate under 35 years of age in the first decade of their career who has made a significant impact in their chosen field.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Community Engagement Award:<\/strong>\u00a0Recognizes a Brock graduate who has made outstanding contributions to their community and, in doing so, has enriched the lives of others.<\/li>\n<li><strong>David Betzner Award:<\/strong>\u00a0Recognizes a Brock graduate who has demonstrated loyalty and commitment to their alma mater by supporting Brock University and\/or the Brock University Alumni Association through dedicated volunteer service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To be considered, nominations must be submitted through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/alumni\/awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alumni website<\/a>\u00a0by Wednesday, Jan. 31. A complete list of past award recipients and award eligibility is also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/alumni\/awards\/#1650305368102-934ffceb-edfa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">available online<\/a>.
