{"id":90226,"date":"2024-01-16T10:11:58","date_gmt":"2024-01-16T15:11:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=90226"},"modified":"2024-01-16T16:17:39","modified_gmt":"2024-01-16T21:17:39","slug":"goodman-prof-to-discuss-impacts-of-covid-19-fears","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2024\/01\/goodman-prof-to-discuss-impacts-of-covid-19-fears\/","title":{"rendered":"Goodman prof to discuss impacts of COVID-19 fears"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saima Naseer, Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management at Brock&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/goodman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Goodman School of Business<\/a>, will discuss the impact of fear of COVID-19 on anxiety and life satisfaction during the next Goodman Luncheon Speaker Series.<\/p>\n<p>Held Friday, Jan. 19, the discussion will also explore how emotional regulation can mitigate paranoid cognition and in turn diminish the negative outcomes associated with these impacts.<\/p>\n<p>Naseer, who received the 2023 Goodman Emerging Scholar of the Year Award, focuses her research on workplace bullying, supervisor undermining, stressors, and various leadership dimensions, including despotic, destructive and transformational leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Before coming to Brock, she served as the head of the Department of Management at International Islamic University in Pakistan for nine years.<\/p>\n<p>Naseer has been a reviewer for numerous local and international journals and conferences. She has published articles in renowned publications such as <em>The Leadership Quarterly<\/em>, <em>Journal of Business and Research<\/em>, <em>Journal of Business and Psychology<\/em>, <em>Human Resource Management (FT-50)<\/em> and <em>Personnel Review<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/goodman\/faculty-research\/luncheon-speaker-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Luncheon Speaker Series<\/a> provides Goodman faculty, staff and students with an informal opportunity to discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with business colleagues.
