{"id":89576,"date":"2023-11-30T15:14:41","date_gmt":"2023-11-30T20:14:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=89576"},"modified":"2023-11-30T22:06:13","modified_gmt":"2023-12-01T03:06:13","slug":"funding-applications-open-for-canada-summer-jobs-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2023\/11\/funding-applications-open-for-canada-summer-jobs-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding applications open for Canada Summer Jobs program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brock students will once again have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience on campus through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/employment-social-development\/services\/funding\/canada-summer-jobs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canada Summer Jobs program<\/a>\u00a0in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Departments interested in hiring students for summer positions are encouraged to apply for the Government of Canada wage subsidy through an internal Brock process.<\/p>\n<p>The Office of Government and Community Relations will review each application against criteria set out by the program to ensure all Brock applications receive the best consideration for funding.<\/p>\n<p>All applications will be compiled and sent to Canada Summer Jobs in a single submission. Any applications for on-campus jobs that are not included in this central application will not be considered for funding.<\/p>\n<p>Jobs eligible for the program include those that provide meaningful employment and contribute to a student\u2019s career path while also providing exposure to the mission of the University by aligning with its strategic direction.<\/p>\n<p>Interested departments are asked to contact Zach Dadson at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:zdadson@brocku.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">zdadson@brocku.ca<\/a>\u00a0as soon as possible.
