{"id":89427,"date":"2023-11-23T14:45:47","date_gmt":"2023-11-23T19:45:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=89427"},"modified":"2023-11-23T16:49:55","modified_gmt":"2023-11-23T21:49:55","slug":"brock-named-one-of-hamilton-niagaras-top-employers-for-sixth-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2023\/11\/brock-named-one-of-hamilton-niagaras-top-employers-for-sixth-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Brock named one of Hamilton-Niagara\u2019s Top Employers for sixth time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brock University has been named one of the Hamilton-Niagara&#8217;s Top Employers for 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Having been selected in every year it has applied, this is the sixth time and fourth consecutive year that Brock has been recognized in the annual competition organized by the editors of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadastop100.com\/niagara\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canada\u2019s Top 100 Employers<\/a>, which is now in its 16th year.<\/p>\n<p>The designation recognizes organizations in the Hamilton-Niagara area that lead their industries in providing exceptional places to work.<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 winners were announced in a feature published Thursday, Nov. 23 by\u00a0<em>The Hamilton Spectator<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Brock President and Vice-Chancellor Lesley Rigg says the designation is validation of Brock\u2019s reputation as an exceptional place to work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrock\u2019s community spirit, opportunities for growth and shared sense of purpose make it a fulfilling place to work,\u201d she says. \u201cWe are able to offer a world-class educational experience because we are able to attract outstanding faculty, staff and librarians who are dedicated to supporting student success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Employers were evaluated against other organizations in their field on eight criteria: workplace; work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to once again be recognized as one of Hamilton-Niagara\u2019s Top Employers for 2024,\u201d says Amanda Villella, Acting Associate Vice-President, People and Culture. \u201cTo Brock, this award is about acknowledging the great work we have already done to foster a work culture where our people feel valued and included.
