Kennedy (JFK).<\/p>\n<p>The event will showcase a new 4K restoration of the documentary, followed by a discussion led by Associate Professor Anthony Kinik and Professor Emeritus Barry Grant of the Department of Communication, Popular Culture and Film.<\/p>\n<p>Emile de Antonio\u2019s 1967 documentary\u00a0<em>Rush to Judgment<\/em>, based on lawyer Mark Lane\u2019s 1966 book, questions the conclusions of the 1964 Warren Commission Report regarding the details of Kennedy&#8217;s murder and who was responsible.<\/p>\n<p>Kinik says he is excited to share this \u201ccrucial artifact from the early years of the controversy surrounding JFK\u2019s murder and its investigation\u201d with today\u2019s audience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDe Antonio was one of the greatest documentary filmmakers of the period, best known for\u00a0<em>Point of Order!<\/em>, his scathing indictment of the McCarthy hearings in the 1950s, and for\u00a0<em>In the Year of the Pig<\/em>, the first important film to question America&#8217;s involvement in Vietnam,\u201d says Kinik. \u201cHis 1971 film, <em>Millhouse:\u00a0A White Comedy<\/em>, was a trenchant critique of Richard Milhous Nixon released during Nixon\u2019s first term, years before news of the Watergate scandal went public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Rush to Judgment<\/em> screens Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Film House in downtown St. Catharines. Tickets for all screenings are available at the Film House.
