{"id":89269,"date":"2023-11-14T12:00:29","date_gmt":"2023-11-14T17:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=89269"},"modified":"2023-11-20T13:16:44","modified_gmt":"2023-11-20T18:16:44","slug":"podcasting-event-to-explore-audio-recording-and-editing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2023\/11\/podcasting-event-to-explore-audio-recording-and-editing\/","title":{"rendered":"Podcasting event to explore audio recording and editing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brock University faculty, staff and students are invited to the next <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/humanities\/community\/pln\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Podcast Learning Network<\/a> (PLN) event featuring experts who will share trips and tricks for recording and editing podcasts.<\/p>\n<p>The in-person panel discussion will be held Friday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to noon in RFP 216.<\/p>\n<p>The audio experts, who all currently work on podcasts, will unpack technical terms and audio recording techniques as well as answer questions from the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Panel guests include Serena Atallah (BA \u201920), a recent grad of Brock\u2019s Interactive Arts and Science program (IASC); Mitchell Hingley (BSc \u201923), who recently graduated from Brock\u2019s Game Programming program; and third-year IASC and Studies in Arts and Culture student Andrew Camacho, who works as a podcast editor and producer for the <em>Perinatal Wellbeing<\/em> podcast with Christine Cunningham.<\/p>\n<p>The event will also include a tour of the equipment for editing podcasts available <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/linc\/our-space\/makerspace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in the Brock University Library\u2019s Makerspace<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Space is limited and those interested in attending are asked to RSVP through <a href=\"https:\/\/experiencebu.brocku.ca\/event\/240747\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ExperienceBU<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The PLN is funded by the Faculty of Humanities and facilitated by Alison Innes, Strategic Initiatives and Outreach Officer in the Faculty of Humanities.
