The battle for Brock\u2019s Souper Bowl trophy returns next month as part of the\u00a0University\u2019s annual employee workplace campaign for United Way Niagara.<\/p>\n
Held Thursday, Oct. 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Market Hall, the fundraising event lets attendees vote on samplings of seven soups served by Faculty Deans. Vegan and vegetarian options will be available.<\/p>\n
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online<\/a>. Thanks to generous in-kind sponsorship from Brock\u2019s Dining Services partner Aramark Canada, all proceeds from the fundraiser will go to United Way Niagara.<\/p>\n \u201cSouper Star is a highlight of the Fall Term for Brock faculty and staff. It\u2019s a chance to gather with colleagues across campus and while also supporting our most vulnerable community members, including the approximately 75,000 people in Niagara who are struggling with food insecurity,\u201d said Colleen Whyte (BRLS \u201997),\u00a0Brock\u2019s United Way Campaign Faculty Co-Chair and Associate Professor with the Recreation and Leisure Studies Department.<\/p>\n Brock\u2019s United Way Committee has set a goal to sell 200 tickets to this year\u2019s event to help reach the 2023 campaign goal of raising $162,000<\/a>.<\/p>\n Beyond purchasing a ticket to Souper Star<\/a>, employees can set up a payroll contribution through Workday<\/a> or make a one-time donation through the United Way Niagara website.<\/p>\n Employees who donate online through Workday by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 19 will be entered into a draw to win a $100 Campus Store gift card.
