Brock University will soon complete its annual asbestos reassessment.<\/p>\n
Reassessments are a requirement of Ontario\u2019s Occupational Health and Safety Act and help to ensure Brock\u2019s asbestos inventory is\u00a0accurate and up to date.<\/p>\n
From Tuesday, Aug. 15 to Thursday, Aug. 31, contractors from Pinchin Ltd. will join Brock\u2019s Health, Safety and Wellness team to conduct a room-by-room visual inspection of previously identified asbestos materials at Brock\u2019s St. Catharines campus.<\/p>\n
The inspection team will be taking proper precautions and controls in accordance with applicable legislation to eliminate any risk of exposure, and in rare instances,\u00a0they will also be collecting small bulk samples.<\/p>\n
The Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts is excluded from the reassessment, as all confirmed asbestos was abated during the\u00a0renovations\u00a0to the building.<\/p>\n
