The Brock community is saddened by the loss of David Jordan, who helped to build the foundation for the University\u2019s exceptional student experience as Brock\u2019s former Dean of Student Services.<\/p>\n

Jordan passed away on Friday, June 23 at the age of 83.<\/p>\n

He joined Brock in 1970 to strengthen the counselling services centre and was ultimately appointed Dean of Student Services, a role he held from 1988 to 1996 before retiring at the age of 56 to pursue work in private practice as a psychologist.<\/p>\n

In his obituary<\/a>, Jordan\u2019s family described his work at Brock University as \u201dhighly rewarding.\u201d He was a champion for inclusion and accessibility at Brock, helping to build a sense of community and contributing to student services on campus by establishing well-trained supervised student peers in Residence, Learning Skills and Career Services.<\/p>\n

Committed to the field of post-secondary student services, Jordan also served as President of both the Canadian University and College Counselling Association and the Canadian Association of University and College Student Services (CACUSS). He was the recipient of one of the first CACUSS Awards of Honour.<\/p>\n

A celebration of life for Jordan will be planned in St. Catharines later this summer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
