{"id":8556,"date":"2011-03-10T15:12:23","date_gmt":"2011-03-10T20:12:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=8556"},"modified":"2011-03-10T15:12:23","modified_gmt":"2011-03-10T20:12:23","slug":"mentoring-and-collaboration-subject-of-humanities-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2011\/03\/mentoring-and-collaboration-subject-of-humanities-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Mentoring and collaboration subject of humanities conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mentoring and collaboration will be the subject of a colloquium hosted at Brock tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/humanities\/departments-and-centres\/modern-languages\/graduate-program-ml\" target=\"_blank\">Studies in Comparative Literatures and Arts<\/a> (SCLA) is hosting \u201cFrom Mentoring to Collaboration and Beyond: Studies in Comparative Literatures and Arts\u201d from 1 to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 11 at Pond Inlet.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the second year of the colloquium hosted by SCLA, which is part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/brocku.ca\/humanities\/departments-and-centres\/modern-languages\" target=\"_blank\">Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures<\/a>. The keynote addresses will be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mario Vald\u00e9s, a professor emeritus of Comparative Literature and Spanish at the University of Toronto, will present \u201cInterdisciplinary Collaboration and the Future of the Humanities\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Linda Hutcheon, one of the best known scholars in humanities today, and Michael Hutcheon, professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. <a href=\"http:\/\/individual.utoronto.ca\/hutcheons\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Hutcheons<\/a> will present \u201cCreativity and the Aging Artist: Guiseppe Verdi Gets the Last Laugh.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It\u2019s the fifth year for the MA program in Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures.
