The Brock University community is mourning the loss of Robert Millar, a Technological Education Teacher Education student.<\/p>\n
Survived by his wife and two children, Millar passed away on Sunday, April 9, at the age of 46.<\/p>\n
An accomplished Red Seal Carpenter with more than 20 years of experience, Millar dreamed of having a positive impact on future generations by sharing his passion for construction as a technological education teacher.<\/p>\n
Millar was an exceptional leader who valued professional responsibility and integrity, says Shannon Welbourn, Lecturer and Program Co-ordinator for Brock\u2019s Technological Education Teacher Education program. She describes him as an “excellent student” who was always willing to help his fellow teacher candidates.<\/p>\n
\u201cRob was genuinely engaged in becoming the best teacher he could be for his future students,\u201d says Welbourn. \u201cHe recognized the critical shortage of skilled workers and qualified tradespeople across various sectors and believed that students who learn a trade will have incredible opportunities. Rob was poised to be an inspiring educator determined to help his students reach their full potential. He will be greatly missed.\u201d<\/p>\n
