{"id":84687,"date":"2023-04-04T10:03:48","date_gmt":"2023-04-04T14:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=84687"},"modified":"2023-04-04T16:37:49","modified_gmt":"2023-04-04T20:37:49","slug":"past-exams-no-longer-available-through-brock-library","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2023\/04\/past-exams-no-longer-available-through-brock-library\/","title":{"rendered":"Past exams no longer available through Brock Library"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Beginning Monday, May 1, the Brock University Library will cease hosting past exams.<\/p>\n<p>Instructors who wish to make past years\u2019 exams available to students are encouraged to use OneDrive or Brightspace, Brock\u2019s Learning Management System.<\/p>\n<p>Students interested in using past exams as a study aid can contact their instructors to determine if previous years\u2019 exams will be available through their course. Study strategies, time management tips and other student learning resources can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/student-life-success\/learning-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Student Life and Success Learning Services website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/exams.library.brocku.ca\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Library\u2019s past exams service<\/a> began many years ago to support language in the Faculty Handbook that indicated exams submitted to the Registrar would be shared with the Library for deposit. In consultation with partners from the Centre for Pedagogical Innovation and the Office of the Registrar and Enrolment Services, the Library decided to move away from this model.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSteadily decreasing use of the service, coupled with an increasing move to electronic exams, led to the Library\u2019s decision to sunset the exam-hosting service,\u201d said Andrew Colgoni, Associate University Librarian, Student Success.<\/p>\n<p>Last fall, a motion to strike the language from the Faculty Handbook was passed through the Undergraduate Student Affairs Committee and then Senate.<\/p>\n<p>Questions can be directed to Colgoni at <a href=\"mailto:acolgoni@brocku.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">acolgoni@brocku.ca<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beginning Monday, May 1, the Brock University Library will cease hosting past exams.
