After seven years at the helm of the University Library, Mark Robertson has accepted a role as Chief Librarian at Toronto Metropolitan University Libraries.<\/p>\n

Robertson has served at Brock since 2016. During that time, he has overseen the development of a new strategic plan and master space plan for the Library, the opening of a new makerspace and renovations of a new student learning space, the establishment of an Open Access Policy and a strengthening of the Library\u2019s acquisitions budget, resulting in a significant rise in the Brock Library\u2019s Maclean\u2019s<\/em> magazine rankings.<\/p>\n

Robertson also oversaw a process for organizational re-design, which launched<\/a> in May 2022, with an eye to aligning the Library more closely with the University\u2019s strategic priorities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile I’m excited for my new role at TMU, it is not easy leaving Brock,\u201d says Robertson. \u201cBrock is such a wonderful institution, with such great students and colleagues at all levels of the organization.<\/p>\n

“The Brock Library is blessed with a team of stellar staff and librarians. Every day working in the Library has been a pleasure, and I’m so optimistic for the future,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn behalf of the Brock community, I want to thank Mark for his tremendous leadership of the Library over the past seven years, and for helping to set it up for continued success into the future,\u201d says Brock Provost and Vice-President, Academic Lynn Wells.<\/p>\n

The search for a new University Librarian will commence shortly, and details will be shared with the campus community.<\/p>\n
