{"id":83207,"date":"2023-01-26T13:14:33","date_gmt":"2023-01-26T18:14:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=83207"},"modified":"2023-01-26T22:09:13","modified_gmt":"2023-01-27T03:09:13","slug":"input-sought-on-reappointment-of-vice-provost-and-associate-vice-president-academic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2023\/01\/input-sought-on-reappointment-of-vice-provost-and-associate-vice-president-academic\/","title":{"rendered":"Input sought on reappointment of Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Academic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brock University students, staff, faculty and librarians are invited to provide input to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/vp-academic\/2022\/12\/07\/announcing-the-advisory-committee-on-the-vice-provost-associate-vice-president-academic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Advisory Committee on the Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Academic<\/a> regarding the reappointment of Professor Brian Power to the role.<\/p>\n<p>Power has held the role of Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Academic since July 1, 2018, and is eligible for reappointment for a second five-year term.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the review process, outlined in the <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/policies\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/94\/Policy-on-the-Appointment-of-Academic-Administrators.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Policy on the Appointment of Academic Administrators,<\/a> the Advisory Committee invites feedback from the Brock community for the purpose of evaluating the performance of the incumbent.<\/p>\n<p>The portfolio of the Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Academic includes a number of files, including (but not limited to):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Co-ordination of the University\u2019s relationship with the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance, including shepherding new program proposals to approval;<\/li>\n<li>Co-ordination of the University\u2019s Institutional Quality Assurance Process, including managing program reviews;<\/li>\n<li>Chairing the activities of the Academic Review Committee of Senate;<\/li>\n<li>Chairing the Associate Deans group and co-ordinating the activities of Associate Deans across Faculties; and<\/li>\n<li>Involvement with a number of faculty processes, including tenure reviews and sabbatical approvals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Individual or collective confidential submissions may be made in writing to the committee through the Office of the Provost, and meetings with the committee can also be requested.<\/p>\n<p>Anonymous submissions will not be accepted. While submissions will be held in strict confidence, they will be shared with committee members in their entirety, including attributions.<\/p>\n<p>Meetings with the committee will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16 from 1 to 2 p.m. and will be limited to 10 minutes each.
