The link between ancient trees and 21st-century technology will be explored in an international lecture by Professor and Chair Michael Pisaric of Brock\u2019s Department of Geography and Tourism Studies next week.<\/p>\n
Pisaric will deliver the Fellow Lecture at Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald (the Alfried Krupp Institute for Advanced Study) in Germany, where he is currently a Senior Fellow while on sabbatical from Brock.<\/p>\n
The talk, \u201cOld trees meet 21st technology \u2014 Tracking climate and environmental change in Subarctic Canada using emerging technologies in tree-ring research,\u201d takes place on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at noon EST (6 p.m. CET) and will be livestreamed via Zoom.<\/p>\n
Moderated by Martin Wilmking, Professor of Landscape Ecology at the University of Griefswald, the lecture will focus on Pisaric\u2019s research on emerging technologies in the field of dendrochronology and how they are used to study changes to the climate over centuries.<\/p>\n
