Brock has been awarded $220,000 by the Ontario Media Development Corp. for its Ontario Augmented Reality Network (OARN).<\/p>\n

The project is led by Kevin Kee, Canada Research Chair of Humanities Computing and an associate professor at Brock.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis announcement allows us to move ahead and build a network for all the people working in augmented reality. That was lacking until now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe business side was always interested. Now we can marry research with commercialization.\u201d<\/p>\n

The OARN is a unique collaboration of universities, private-sector developers, cultural agencies, trade associations, local government and business generators dedicated to building and expanding the Augmented Reality Applications sector across Ontario. It has a total budget of $360,000.<\/p>\n
