Brock University has been recognized as one of Hamilton-Niagara’s Top Employers for 2023.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The annual competition, now in its 16th year, is organized by the editors of <\/span>Canada\u2019s Top 100 Employers<\/span><\/a>. The award honours organizations that demonstrate industry leadership in offering an exceptional place to work through progressive and forward-thinking programs.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is the fifth time Brock University has received the designation, having been selected in every year it has applied: 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2023.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2023 winners were announced last week in a feature published by <\/span>The Hamilton Spectator.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Brock President Lesley Rigg says the selection verifies the University’s reputation as a preferred place to work.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEven before coming to Brock, I had heard wonderful stories of the University\u2019s community spirit and it being a top choice for employment in the region,\u201d she says. \u201cWorking in education is incredibly fulfilling, especially knowing the impact of collectively supporting student success and offering a transformational academic experience. Kudos to our fantastic faculty, staff and librarians for making Brock such an exceptional place to work.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To select workplaces for the designation, employers were compared to other organizations in their field and evaluated on eight criteria: workplace; work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Hamilton-Niagara'sSome of the<\/span> reasons Brock University was selected<\/span><\/a> include its hybrid pension plan, flexible work arrangements, phased-in work options for faculty when nearing retirement and a dynamic work environment with key amenities such as diverse campus food options, an on-location childcare centre and an extensive fitness facility. Brock was also commended for its dedication to employee health and wellness by regularly offering initiatives that address its workplace wellness framework, such as lunchtime wellness workshops, physical activity challenges and awareness campaigns during mental health week.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
