There was no doubting who was in the house at the Goodman School of Business atrium Wednesday, Nov. 23.<\/p>\n

As guests celebrated the 10th anniversary of Goodman becoming a named business school, Business Students\u2019 Association President Aiden Walmsley led 150 faculty, students and Brock Community members through a spirited version of the School\u2019s \u2018Who\u2019s in the House?\u2019 chant.<\/p>\n

The answer was clear \u2014 \u2018Goodman\u2019s in the house.\u2019<\/p>\n

Together with the transformational gift from Ned Goodman and the Goodman Family Foundation in 2012, the naming of the School helped demonstrate the high quality of business education being provided at Brock said the University\u2019s President and Vice-Chancellor Lesley Rigg.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe naming of the Goodman School of Business is a significant milestone in Brock\u2019s history,\u201d she said. \u201cThis support truly took the School to the next level. It put us on a trajectory of continued success. It\u2019s a trajectory we are still on, and the successes will continue to get bigger and better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Those successes include being ranked by Maclean\u2019s<\/a> magazine as one of Canada\u2019s top 20 business schools, receiving prestigious international accolades<\/a> for the School\u2019s social and economic contributions, and being the only Canadian member of the International Partnership of Business Schools network.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of the Goodman family, Mark Goodman talked about his late father<\/a> Ned\u2019s love of Brock, his love of spending time with faculty and students, and how he would be proud and overjoyed to see the School today.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a family, we take great pride in the Goodman School of Business. We also love this place,\u201d he said. \u201cWe look forward to celebrating many future milestones at Brock.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joining current students at the event were many alumni, while all three Deans who have served since the naming also took part in the celebration.<\/p>\n

Alyssa Waldes (BBA \u201915) spoke on behalf of alumni and shared how she remembered the excitement and pride in the student body when they found out in 2012 that the Faculty of Business was becoming a named school.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoodman is so much more than this incredible building you see here,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s the pride. It\u2019s the family. It\u2019s the students and alumni, faculty and staff coming together \u2014 and we are so incredible proud to be a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t
