A celebration of global proportions is coming to Brock next week.<\/p>\n
From Monday, Nov. 21 to Friday, Nov. 25, International Education Week will celebrate the University\u2019s international community, recognize and promote the value of education abroad and at home, and bring global discussions to campus.<\/p>\n
Brock\u2019s International Education Week is an annual event occurring in conjunction with the Canadian Bureau for International Education\u2019s (CBIE) International Education Week<\/a> celebrations, which are held\u202fworldwide\u202fon the\u202fthird\u202fweek\u202fof November and celebrated in more than\u202f100 countries around the globe.<\/p>\n Online, hybrid and in-person learning sessions at the University are organized by Brock International, in collaboration with several campus partners, and aim to showcase internationalization on campus and promote international opportunities for the Brock community.<\/p>\n Among these sessions is the Faculty and Staff Stories: Embracing self-identity through International Education<\/a> talk on Monday, Nov. 21, which will connect students with President and Vice-Chancellor\u00a0Lesley Rigg, Vice-Provost, Teaching and Learning Rajiv Jhangiani, and Course Instructor, Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures Naf\u00e9e Fa\u00efgou as they discuss how international education has impacted their personal and professional lives.<\/p>\n Participants can also hear first-hand accounts of Brock students\u2019 experiences at the Stories from International Education gathering<\/a> on Wednesday, Nov. 23, which will see students who have studied abroad share how the opportunities have made a positive impact in their academics, personal lives and careers.<\/p>\n Christina Bosilo, Director of Brock International, said the week serves as an occasion to reflect, promote and share the value of internationalization at Brock.<\/p>\n \u201cIn bringing together students, faculty and staff, our goal is to explore Brock\u2019s connection to the world, and to recognize the contributions and diversity international education has on our campus,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
