{"id":81504,"date":"2022-10-27T12:58:26","date_gmt":"2022-10-27T16:58:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=81504"},"modified":"2022-10-27T16:42:47","modified_gmt":"2022-10-27T20:42:47","slug":"mitacs-funding-opportunities-topic-of-next-building-better-research-webinar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2022\/10\/mitacs-funding-opportunities-topic-of-next-building-better-research-webinar\/","title":{"rendered":"Mitacs funding opportunities topic of next Building Better Research webinar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Brock University students, recent graduates and post-doctoral fellows are eligible for a variety of programs offered through Mitacs that support research partnerships and international connections.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Mitacs is a national not-for-profit organization funded by the federal and provincial governments<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> with a mandate to help spur research and innovation to support the Canadian economy.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">An online presentation planned for <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Wednesday, Nov. 2 from noon to 1 p.m. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">will discuss available programs, the types of projects considered for funding, benefits to academics and students, and the resources and support available through Brock.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/experiencebu.brocku.ca\/event\/215014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Introduction to Mitacs<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> session <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">is <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/library\/workshops\/building-better-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Building Better Research professional development series<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">offered jointly by the Office of Research Services and the Brock University Library to <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">enhance research efforts at the University.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Greg <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">MacNeill, Brock\u2019s Mitacs Business Development Officer, will lead the presentation and discuss several <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Mitacs funding opportunities, including:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">Mitacs&#8217;
