{"id":80507,"date":"2022-09-22T16:40:50","date_gmt":"2022-09-22T20:40:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=80507"},"modified":"2022-09-29T21:54:36","modified_gmt":"2022-09-30T01:54:36","slug":"brock-launches-refreshed-university-brand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2022\/09\/brock-launches-refreshed-university-brand\/","title":{"rendered":"Brock launches refreshed University brand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brock University has rolled out its refreshed and refined brand with the launch of its fall recruitment advertising campaign and the installation of new banners along campus roads and buildings.<\/p>\n<p>The new brand positioning and visual identity \u2014 which emphasize the ability to \u201cbreak through\u201d at Brock \u2014 is the result of more than a year of community consultation and is aimed at enhancing the University\u2019s reputation across Canada and around the world.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-80518\" src=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/BrockU-2022-RGB-Top-1050x636.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"241\" height=\"146\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The project was guided by a steering committee, which included 25 faculty members, students and staff representing a diverse cross-section of the Brock community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe heard from more than 2,300 students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members who told us what they value most about Brock: the caring campus community, the ability to experience practical teaching, learning and research, our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and our strong ties to the Niagara community,\u201d says Gord Arbeau, Associate Vice-President, Advancement and External Relations. \u201cThey also told us that Brock needs to celebrate itself more often, to tell more people the University\u2019s story. This new brand platform will help campus communications and marketing staff, recruiters and others reach even more people in new and exciting ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_80520\" style=\"width: 364px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-80520\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-80520\" src=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Banners-1050x719.jpg\" alt=\"A banner with a man's photo hands on a light standard.\" width=\"354\" height=\"242\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-80520\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brock&#8217;s Canada Research Chairs are featured on banners now displayed around the University.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The refreshed brand is anchored by the promise that anyone, from any walk of life, can break through personal, professional and societal barriers at Brock.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has long been true of our university, and it\u2019s a core part of our identity,\u201d says interim President and Vice-Chancellor Lynn Wells. \u201cFrom the classroom to the lab to the sports field, Brock is a place where breakthroughs can and do happen every single day. This refreshed brand positioning perfectly captures the essence of what Brock is and will help us continue to attract students and researchers who want to make breakthroughs of their own.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The project includes a range of updates to the University\u2019s visual identity guidelines, including the removal of the thumbprint from Brock\u2019s logo (which an overwhelming number of campus community members called for) and the use of a fresh new font.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_80534\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-80534\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-80534\" src=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Break-through-here-788x1050.jpg\" alt=\"A banner that says 'Break through here' hangs on a light post.\" width=\"240\" height=\"320\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-80534\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brock&#8217;s new brand positioning and visual identity \u2014 which emphasize the ability to \u201cbreak through\u201d at Brock \u2014 is the result of more than a year of community consultation and is aimed at enhancing the University\u2019s reputation across Canada and around the world.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The recruitment advertising campaign leverages the new brand platform across a wide range of digital and social media, and is augmented by other forms of advertising in strategic markets, including billboard and transit shelter ads across the GTHA and Niagara region.<\/p>\n<p>The on-campus banners highlight some of Brock\u2019s Canada Research Chairs, sports and the University\u2019s overall brand.<\/p>\n<p>In early October, Brock\u2019s Recruitment team will travel to Toronto for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontariouniversitiesfair.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ontario Universities Fair<\/a>.
